Tour Leader: Jeff Bond, Naturalist for the Wilmot Creek Outdoor Education Centre.

Spend a morning exploring forest ecosystems in the northern tract of the Orono Crown Lands with a focus on the effects of human activities over time and space. Exploration locations could include the following: a tree archive, windrows, coniferous forests, mixed-wood forests, forests in varying stages of succession including a remnant climax tolerant hardwood forest, plantations at various stages of maturity and recent patch clear-cuts.

Meet in Port Hope at the carpool parking lot on the East side of Toronto Rd. Just South of Hwy 401 (exit 461) at 8:30 a.m. or at the Wilmot Creek Outdoor Education Centre, 3245 Taunton Rd., Clarington, at 9:00 a.m.
