Thursday, June 15, 2017, 7:00 p.m. - Reptile and Amphibian Outing to Lone Pine Marsh - Braham Tract
Leaders:
Kyle Horner and Doug McRae

This is a joint outing with Lone Pine Land Trust.
Directions: Take 401 east to Exit 497, Cty. Rd. 25. Go north on Cty. Rd. 25 to Cty. Rd. 21. Go east on Cty. Rd. 21 to Maple Grove Rd, which is the first left. Go north on Maple Grove to the parking area on the right (east) side of road.

 

Saturday, June 24, 2017 - Outing to Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area
Leader: Ewa Bednarczuk of Lower Trent Conservation

Focus will be on prairie restoration on the site. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Conservation Area or 9 a.m. in Cobourg, Hwy. 45 car pool lot. Directions to Goodrich-Loomis: Take Hwy. 401 to Exit 509, Cty. Rd. 30. Go north on Cty. Rd. 30 to Goodrich Rd. Turn left (west) on Goodrich Rd. Follow this to the Conservation Area.

 

Sunday, July 16, 2017 (note an incorrect date was in the Curlew) - Butterfly Outing to Sandy Lake Rd., Peterborough County

Meet at 7:30 a.m. at Cty. Rd. 45 and 401 car pool lot or at 8:30 a.m. at the Tim Horton’s in Havelock. Tim’s is on the northwest corner of the intersection of TransCanada Hwy. 7 and Cty. Rd. 46. This is an all day outing, so bring water, lunch and dress for the weather. Bring butterfly nets and guides if you have them.

 

Sunday, August 20, 2017 - Birding outing to Candlewick Woods

We will search the woods and fields for early migrant and resident species. Meet at 8 a.m. Directions: Take Lakeshore Rd. west from Port Hope to the red barn opposite the intersection with Dickinson Rd. Park in lane by the barn.

 

Sunday, September 10, 2017 - Mushroom outing to Presqu’ile Provincial Park

Meet at the car pool lot at Hwy. 45 and 401 at 9 a.m. or in the park or at The Baker’s Dozen, 3 Elizabeth St., the corner of Prince Edward and Elizabeth St. in Brighton at 9:30 a.m. We will be going into Presqu’ile Park, so if anyone has a park pass, please bring it.
