The Nature Conservancy of Canada has a unique opportunity to purchase the 231-acre Brighton Wetland property, including 2.5 km of undeveloped Lake Ontario shoreline, between Presqu’ile Provincial Park and NCC’s Boes property. This large, intact coastal wetland is an important stopover for migratory birds and is home to several species of note such as the king rail, least bittern, wood thrush and eastern wood-pewee.

However, time is short – NCC needs to raise at least $400,000 by July 1, 2018 to be able to close the deal and complete the purchase. WBFN members can help protect this sensitive area from development by donating to the Nature Conservancy of Canada at http://www.natureconservancy.ca/en/.
