About our education grants
Since 2003, WBFN have been empowering youth in Northumberland County through education grants, student scholarships, and support for environmental leadership. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards by supporting hands-on learning, conservation projects, and nature-based education.
$1500 student scholarship
Annual scholarship for graduating high school students pursuing post-secondary education with an interest in nature conservation.
Open to: Students in Northumberland County
Deadline: April 17, 2026
2025 Winner: Emily Goodall, St. Mary’s Secondary School
$500 environmental stewardship grants
Funding for school-based projects that promote environmental awareness and/or development of environmental programs and initiatives.
Open to: Northumberland County Elementary and/or Secondary schools

Youth Summit sponsorship
Sponsored attendance to the Ontario Nature Youth Summit. This is an annual weekend of workshops, nature hikes, and youth-led climate action.
